Slow is fast enough. “The creative process is a process of surrender, not control” (Julia Cameron).

This year’s adventures have led to crossing over thresholds I could not have expected in January.
Most recently, in August I celebrated an anniversary; and in September I decided on a new focus for my writing and community. My 100-Day Projects and ICAD helped me to mark another threshold in July.
One thing leads to another …
➡️ As I journaled letters to future me via [dear me in six months …] it led to these recent posts: ➡️ evolutions: who am i now? | clamoring & contractions | telling our stories | self-compassion & right brain planning | hidden rules.
“Human emotions and experiences are layers of biology, biography, behavior, and backstory.” -Brené Brown
As I imagined the details 🔭🧠🔮 of who I want to be after this six month 📆📆📆📆📆📆 time period, I compiled 📔🖊️💭 my thoughts regarding how I wanted my 🔎 future self to handle 🪄 specific situations and outcomes.
- “Am I making decisions + taking action today that will equip ➡️ future me to live freely and live what matters most to me?” 💗
- “Am I repeating habits that will block me from experiencing what I desire?”
“Maybe so you know words can map out wounds. Maybe words can cobble wounds together.” -Mohammed Moussa

Braveheart, whatever you have done or not done is in your past. Whatever happened or did not happen is also in your past. ⬅️⬅️⬅️
➡️➡️➡️ Letting go of what is past is the essential beginning of making space for what is yet to be.
“Whatever pain your work heals or delight it delivers won’t be healed or delivered without you doing your work, and there’s no substitute for your best work because no one else will create what you create in the way that you create it.” -Charlie Gilkey
🏆 Your life is your best work, Braveheart. Please resist the urge to doubt the choices you made to this point. (Those choices are in the past.) ⬅️⬅️⬅️
Face forward and begin to envision living more of what you desire. 💗

“Colors and shapes make a more definite statement than words.” -Georgia O’Keeffe
🪄 We have started this [final quarter of 2026] in the Ko-fi community by choosing our well-being and allowing for [slow to be fast enough]. I am sharing ideas and examples for setting up a journal-planner.
➡️➡️➡️ This could include a designated booklet, monthly calendar -and/or- Zine-journals. 👩🏻💻👩🏻💻💻👩🏻💻 We will be talking about starting points in our community session on October 17.
Reminder: If words don’t come, 🌈color and ✂️ collage are 💯💯💯 options for starting. 😊

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way—things I had no words for.” -Georgia O’Keeffe

“I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.” -Joan Didion

🔁 Right brain planning is truth-telling, and the truth sets us free, Braveheart.
Right brain planning is a way of exploring + discovering who we are as we hold space and jot notes (and sometimes collage or paint over those notes). ❤️
Thank you kindly for your presence here.
I appreciate your interest and support.
~love & good wishes~

❤️ Braveheart, as the Creator/Artist of Right Brain Planner I am ever-grateful to have the opportunity to share my creative work online + support other creators! 🎉 For almost 20 years I have had the privilege of sharing my art and writing about right brain planning while also hosting kindred 👭🏽💞👭 communities. ✨ I consider it an absolute delight to continue this portion of my creative work (even as I retire from full-time work).
This is possible, in part, by {you} and your presence here. ❤️ But also because of the support of my Ko-fi patrons and the other member/subscriber communities I host.

Right Brain Planner is the result of personal research, professional experience and intentional investments of curiosity, time and energy that began in 2007. I began to document my right brain planning process in 2008 via a WordPress blog; I started publishing journal-planning prompts and template pages in 2012.
