My Inner Sky is divided into sections: Golden Hour, Twilight, Night and Dawn

“Once a place becomes home, it rarely remains magnificent. It’s comfortable, even Manhattan can feel a little boring on a humid Tuesday. That is why it’s a discipline and a practice for me to keep it magical.” -Mari Andrew

Chapter 1 from My Inner Sky by Mari Andrew

“To become present in your own city as you would be while traveling, you have to make the city feel new … You have to get a little disoriented, even annoyed. That’s what it is like to be around humans, who are unpredictable and often annoying.” -Mari Andrew

  • โœ… Examples from her list included: people ๐Ÿ’ƒ dancing on balconies; secret ๐Ÿชด gardens; people helping other people; funny things said by ๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป children; free ๐ŸŽ apples left by some fire ๐Ÿš’ fighters; a little boy’s hand-drawn ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ map to help a woman on the ๐Ÿš‰ subway who couldn’t read English.

“The importance of doing stuff that stretches you cannot be overstated. It is through stretching that you learn you can change that you realize that your actions can have a significant impact on your environment and that you can determine your trajectory.” -Kitty Chisholm

What does this have to do with right brain planning?

Showing up for ourselves daily-ish and setting aside โฐ time and space on a regular basis for both tangible and intangible processing is how we redirect our energies + identify our desires + get ๐Ÿ”Ž clarity.

  • Right brain planning is a practice that invites us to devote โฐ time and ๐Ÿ”Ž attention to expression and a dated chronicle of our personal dataโ€”๐Ÿ“ˆ highs, lows ๐Ÿ“‰ and in-betweens ๐Ÿ“Šโ€” to assist us in our self-awareness and ongoingness.
    • This includes notes from slow-reading books about creativity, self-discovery and healing + jotting down ways to live more of what we desire from those insights. ๐Ÿ˜Š
