world-building

I know that worldbuilding might not be for everyone, but I do believe that necessary imagination could be for everyone.

Morgan Harper Nichols, A Necessary Imagination

Remember that this is not something we do just once or twice. Interrupting our destructive habits and awakening our heart is the work of a lifetime.

Right brain planning is the practice of allowing space and time to explore and learn from what we experience. It becomes a destination all its own.

  • The connection between “magic” and right brain planning involves practice and repetition as we self-compassionately hold space with our:
    • desired outcomes [wishes, desires and dreams]
    • limitations [realities; circumstances beyond our control]
    • feelings, thoughts and emotions [focusing on needs and feelings]
    • illusions [misinterpreted perceptions; faulty beliefs; false memories and dreams]
      • Side note: I moved through some faulty thoughts and beliefs this week via some redemptive “real talk” (raw conversations) pertaining to motherhood.
      • As in, “at any moment, you can go for a different part. You can decide not to be held back by comparison or spite, and you can make a start in a new direction” (Hannah Brencher).

For all the places you have known and
and have traveled through,
may there be room to explore other states,
gathering stories as you go,
inspiring others to do the same.
