The law of attraction is actually just a candied up version of an old psychological concept called the “confirmation bias.”
Mark Manson
Week 8/52 was about celebrating and savoring peaceful days, sunshiny-walks and comforting/affirming conversations. (And also, a deeper healing-acceptance regarding what cannot be changed.)
Having a sense of structure in place makes “it is easier to thrive and flourish” (Julia Cameron). My creative structure (sequences and task lists + compiling these weekly summaries of what I am reading and observing) serves me as both a balm and compass.
No matter how deeply we have been wounded, when we listen to the inner voice that calls us back to our bodies, back to wholeness, we begin our journey.
Tara Brach
“The weight of our darkness, stress, and anxiety can sometimes overpower us—but in our heavy moments, it’s crucial to remember that our worthiness remains intact, even when we falter.” –Alex Elle
“The funny thing about all of these [self-help] books is that they all more or less say the same thing: mind your own thoughts, stay positive and focused on your goals, ignore self-doubt and criticism, visualize and concentrate on what you want and you will eventually have it.” –Mark Manson
“[There are people who] use ‘forgiveness’ as a tool to guilt-trip you into giving them another chance. To manipulate you into taking the blame for their own wrongdoings. To prove that you’re both ‘equally as bad.’ To shame you for legitimate anger you may carry over mistreatment. To wag their fingers at you and patronize you for not being able to ‘let go’ of the past (as opposed to them taking responsibility for their inappropriate behavior).” –Jackson MacKenzie
“No one is meaner than a pack of human beings faced with someone who is different.”

Things are always changing, and in the long term, everything is temporary.
Steve Lambert
Everything is temporary, but there are common threads within everything we feel and experience.
Connecting the proverbial dots fosters our recovery [resiliency] and inspires (facilitates) living differently.
- The Imaginary World of ___ was part of my [alignment] in 2022, and in 2023 it contributed to my practice of [belonging] to myself. For 2024, I am adding notes and collage regarding the [latitude] I am exploring.
- It has helped me to foster a unique full moon journal practice.
- During the days between the January full moon and now, I have focused on abiding in a sacred space and possibility.
Since December I have been keeping a color-coded record of my feelings; I have also been tracking how I use my time (with a quarter-hourly schedule template).
Because change is only possible when we are aware of our default patterns (aka the places we start from …). ♥
- Having a visual record has been clarifying and empowering (and healing).
- Having a visual log of my time helps to separate “fact from fiction” (and to cope when I fall into a mindset of “being behind” or believing “I always …” and/or “I never …” with regard to what I am capable of living [understanding and overcoming]).

Not all avoidance is procrastination; sometimes we simply know we are not at the tipping point of action.
- There are times when we are avoiding action points for the things we claim to want to do and to be for a reason and purpose.
- “[A] single achievement is the fruition of many mistakes” (Steven Magee).
- New connections are necessary for progress (and before fruition).

There is always a time factor related to the ripening of the desire when we train our focus (our conscious mind) on the details of what we desire and learn to co-exist with our what-if’s (fear).
The foundation of all mental illness is the unwillingness to experience legitimate suffering.
