“You held on to things that didn’t belong to you. Being let down, having insecurities, and holding on to deep-rooted feelings of abandonment made seeing yourself, and your true potential, a challenge. But look at where you are right now … you’re still alive and breathing…” -Alexandra Elle
Braveheart, what are you holding onto that doesn’t belong to you? ♥
- How does what you are holding onto affect your dailies (what are some of the things you are working through)?
- How do you think your holding on affects [influences, alters, derails, facilitates] your dailies and how you see yourself?
- Do you track your feelings (thoughts and behaviors)?
- Do you use this “data” about yourself in self-compassionate ways for your well-being?
During the past six months I have been tracking my feelings + how I am using my time, because change is only possible when we are aware of our default patterns (aka the place we start from …).
Having a visual record has been clarifying, and it allows me to separate “fact from fiction” (and to cope when I fall into a mindset of “I always …” and/or “I never …” with regard to what I am capable of living [understanding and overcoming]).
Without understanding how our feelings, thoughts, and behaviors work together, it’s almost impossible to find our way back to ourselves and each other.
