Samhain blessings to you, Braveheart! 🔥
Samhain (“summer’s end”) is celebrated from sundown on October 31 through November 1 in the Northern Hemisphere as the halfway point between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.

“We clasp the hands of those who go before us.” -Wendell Berry
My practice is to observe this day as the transition from light into the dark season of winter; a season with its restorative remembrances, stillness and dormancy.

As the hours of daylight decrease and trees shed their leaves over my wild gardens while Autumn ushers in seasonal dormancy, I reflect on the absolute beauty of my life:
- The dreams that came true, the lessons learned, the meaning and healing of sacred moments and personal mile markers of love and joy, choice and release.
- 2026 has been especially full of goodness: memories-made and prayers-answered. 🙏
I celebrate Samhain as a Day One; a day to release and to receive …
Dates and calendar years are not as relevant or memorable as personal anniversaries, seasons and celestial cycles—particularly with regard to personal perspective and progress, discovery, expression and growth.
Braveheart, what is this season for you? What are the practices (rituals you try over and over) that guide you and provide you within a sense of continuum + ongoingness?

“The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave it neither power nor time.” -Mary Oliver

Seasonal points of progress and development occur subtly within the hours of our days and into weeks—and without notice if we do not employ some type of chronicling:
- A practice of pause-reflect-notice along with noting of how we feel + what we are living.
- The compilation of a chronicle for review and reference, clarity and visioning.
“You need only claim the events of your life to make yourself yours.” -Florida Scott-Maxwell
This web site is a collection of lunar + seasonal prompts and journal-planning ideas to encourage self-compassion + expression (verbal-processing and art journaling) and devoting attention and review (meditation and prayer).
Braveheart, we learn by doing: we discover details about ourselves through dated, chronicled observations 👀✍️📔 because everything we experience is data. 📊
Data is value-neutral; it is neither “good’ or “bad”—it is merely information to use for our choices, intentions and conclusions. Remembering this helps us to live free from judgment and shoulds.
Thank you kindly for your presence here.
I appreciate your interest and support.
