“Conditions are never perfect. ‘Someday’ is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you…. If it’s important to you and you want to do it ‘eventually,’ just do it and correct course along the way.” -Tim Ferriss

Braveheart, Viola Davis’ memoir, Finding Me, was a difficult read because of the agonizing hardships she has had to overcome. But it was also so inspiring! 🎇
One of the overarching themes in her book was her emphasis that we define who we are, and that “We are our history” (Viola Davis) 💜
“Then she comes home to this ordinary life transformed and shares her story of survival with others.” -Viola Davis
I am exploring my history, moving through small shifts and challenging choices that I believe will eventually enable me to bridge the gap between my lived and unlived life.
“Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance.” -Steven Pressfield
Today is day 77/100 of exploring this prompt: What if it all works out? ❤️ During the past several days I have been journaling my thoughts to the prompt ⬆️ above and various cards from The Remarkable Life Deck by Debbie Millman.
- I have included some of those cards below:

“You’re healing not from the event, but instead from what it told you about yourself.” -Najwa Zebian

I am continuing to learn about the countless ways two things can be true. I routinely (as in, daily) 🙃 struggle with my physical “limits”—doing what I can to co-exist without becoming overwhelmed about those details.
- Inspiration from Sue Monk Kidd and Suleika Jaouad.

One of the April guide words* is [quiet]. A word that can have so many different connotations.

Picking up the pieces of [Life]—reconnecting them after there was disruption, without blaming other people—fosters (creates?) our resiliency.
“‘You’ statements imply a state of homelessness, because you are trying to find the answer somewhere outside of yourself.” -Najwa Zebian
Detachment is to acknowledge (and celebrate) our limited agency: We are simply not equipped for “doing it all”—and also, we simply must take care of ourselves before we can adequately take care of anyone or anything else.
Detachment is helping me experience joy despite so much injustice and people who seem to get away with their lies and cruelty.
“Joy reminds us that no matter what, life is still worth loving. For every time we ask is this it?, joy will answer: There is more.” -Kate Bowler
For 2026, I am rereading a chapter from The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron each month. Chapter 4, “Recovering a Sense of Integrity” offered me a timely reminder: My values guide me through a changing life, new rituals and wellness routines.
“As we gain—or regain—our creative identity, we lose the false self we were sustaining.” -Julia Cameron
Braveheart, resistance has become my dance partner. Some days that 😐😏🙄 sux, it is confusing and challenging—but most days it proves to be an incredible and empowering experience.
I try to remember to remind myself that “joy isn’t something you can optimize or manufacture—it finds us at the edge of expectation, when life interrupts our scripts” (Kate Bowler).
Thank you kindly for your presence here, Braveheart. 💗
I appreciate your interest and support.
