reading | listening | watching as of week 32/52

After reading a message from Charlie Gilkey’s mailing list I began to consider habits that would serve me if I resumed them (or reframed them) to include them in my dailies.

And so, here goes a resuming of weekly “currently” notes (albeit a bit delayed because I sorta forgot about the resuming part):

What habits and routines do you need to reboot to help you manage whatever change you’re experiencing right now?

Routines and sequences are always the way through. These gems of living help us to move beyond decision-fatigue and procrastination (and general overthinking of all.the.things) — and inspire us to experiment and try new things! ♥

Moment-by-moment. Within each breath and within your micro-movements, naps and teeny-tiny bits of progress.

READING

  • Sewing Paper (Daisy Yellow Art)
  • Various articles here (because … well, that is an entirely other post) 🙂
  • Problogger Productivity Tips
    • “I’m a big believer in developing the systems and then finding tools that help you manage them.” -Darren Rowse
    • Writing is my way of knowing and processing and mapping our the details of my living, and so …
    • I decided to resume blogging (after almost concluding this site because 2023 has become my retirement year, well, and, sigh because I am weary with the administrative (and expensive) details of maintaining my trademarks. But, that is also an entirely other post. 🙂

  • Learning more about outdoor sculptures in Georgia after reading an article in the New York Times. (Which led to learning about other interesting outdoor exhibits, such as the Inhotim in Brazil.)

  • Sandy Vans (because van-life is something I am always thinking about) 🙂
  • learning about thru-hiking because of the Sleep Stories series on the Calm app
    • Pacific Crest Trail (thru-hiking has become a guiding concept (timely wisdom for living) for me; this particular trail (on average) requires five months to complete and it feels like perfect timing because there are (5) months remaining in this calendar year 🙂

LISTENING

  • Max Richter; Fabrizio Peterlini; Dustin O’Halloran; Gabriel Parker; Philip Glass; Alexis Ffrench (all instrumental compositions because it serves as “white noise” when I am writing)
    • new find: Bach: The Cello Suites recomposed by Peter Gregson

WATCHING

  • Cas Holman: Design for Play on Netflix (I will keep re-watching this)
  • Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix (recommended by my eldest grandchild — and I love it for many reasons, such as: ♥ they recommended it to me; whales; the wonder and imagery)
  • Dinner Club on Amazon Prime (“The rules of Dinner Club: you have to love food, good company and traveling.) This series reminded me to revisit Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy; Tucci visits regional cuisines
  • Wild (and in my queue: A Walk in the Woods)

Thank you for your presence here, Braveheart. ♥

~love & good wishes~
