Prompt: beginnings
“There are moments in life when we are reminded that we are unfinished, that the story we have been telling ourselves about who we are and where our life leads is yet unwritten. Such moments come most readily at the beginning of something new.”
-Maria Popova

Braveheart, I invite you to pause … to intuitively consider your life story and this current leg of your journey. Are the details of your current journey fulfilling the details of your heart desires? (Please resist editing yourself. Acknowledge the facts.) ❤️

This is a question we must ponder as a sacred ritual, Braveheart. We must. ❤️
This prompt is one of the pivotal questions to prioritize time and space for compiling a list of thoughts and ideas. (The download from Day 6 offers you a starting point, Braveheart.) ❤️
We must also prioritize time (and energy) for what we want.
We cannot hope to receive anything we want if we are unable to identify what we want. And we cannot receive anything we do not believe we are worthy of receiving.

Today is Day 8 within the tradition of Twelve Days of Christmas, and I offer you the oracle of [start] and a download to assist you with that.

Start the process of identifying what you want to feel, be and do. ❤️
Braveheart, right brain planning is a practice that helps you with this process.
It is a chronicling practice focused on self-compassion, expression (verbal, collage, color, doodle, etc.), attention and reflection (review) as a means of pause and meditation, self-awareness and identifying more of what matters most to you. ♥
✅ The 3-page download below is a starting point for the process of naming what you want (and need). Space to begin pen-to-paper, to experiment, notice, access, review and chronicle. It includes:
- introduction + cover art
- (2) templates for jotting [noticing notes]
- (1) template focused on becoming aware of wants and needs
- (1) template to serve as a Life Quad review
*PROMPT: Fold + use the first page of this download as a booklet cover; add pages and create a gluebook ✂️ (junk journal, smashbook—aka a no-rules journal). ☺️
❤️ Recommended: Print the download and begin slowly: set a timer for 5-minutes as you put pen-to-paper to chronicle thoughts as they come.
- If no words come ➡️ simply write the date and time as you make marks or doodles, self-compassionately holding space with yourself until the timer concludes.
- 💁🏻♀️ “The different ways artists use marks and expressive qualities” (The Tate)
Be gentle, but repeat this as a practice until words come freely.

➡️➡️➡️ As a daily prompt I have been posting oracle cards, content + free downloads here to offer ideas and resources for self-compassion + expression + attention + reflection.
