the peace of analog days

altered book journal

“Peace in difficult times doesn’t mean nothing bothers us. It means we stop making everything worse by losing ourselves in our thoughts. It means we stay grounded enough to see what we can actually do, then do it with a calm heart.” –Walk for Peace

  • ➡️➡️➡️ To be grounded + mindful—to feeland to hold space with whatever we are experiencing without telling (retelling) ourselves faulty stories based only on what we feel.

I hold space (and “edit for accuracy”) by being on the pages of my journal-planners; adding handwritten entries (and collage) for clarity and as a prayer, as a way of making my living tangible as I cycle like the 🌙 moon.

“There are moments in life when we are reminded that we are unfinished, that the story we have been telling ourselves about who we are and where our life leads is yet unwritten. Such moments come most readily at the beginning of something new.” -Maria Popova

💁🏻‍♀️ Braveheart, I am savoring analog days; cold but sunny ☀️ days; morning meditations; bird 🐦‍⬛ watching; walks in the park; reading by my large picture 🪟 window; sorting through my 📚 bookshelves, along with whatever else is necessary to stay grounded and see the goodness. 🧡

  • I am excited about the projects I am currently working on, and the kindred conversations within my communities!
  • The journey to [here] has required a lifetime of learning, “failing,” and trying again (and again).
    • I am ever-grateful for all the love and grace that carried me here. 💜
    • Braveheart, Life can get better. 💜

⭐️ I am an artist and curator; I am one who communicates with color, found words and collage, inky marks and doodles as I cycle like the moon (as my calendar), chronicling oracles and abiding with the sky as a meditation.

⭐️ I host creative communities, safe spaces for gathering and sharing. I choose love and creativity for coping with the ongoing challenges of this world and I go to work—not because everything is fine but because I believe art heals.

  • This is possible, in part, by {you} and your presence here. But also because of the support of my Ko-fi patrons and the other member/subscriber communities I host (via their presence, input and paid subscriptions). 🫶
