“Sometimes the absence of light helps you see more clearly. It takes away many of our comforts to reveal the essentials.” -Mari Andrew
Today is the ๐๐๐ moon is waxing to full; it is โ Day 97/100 of my second 100-Day Project for this year, (theme: Benevolence, Wonder and Meaning).
I have been sharing reading notes from My Inner Sky by Mari Andrew as a way of chronicling my current morning starting point. ๐ I am grateful for the momentum of this practice, and …
I am excited to begin a new online book discussion ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป for Opening Up by Writing It Down by James W. Pennebaker beginning September 12, 2026 for my Ko-fi patrons. Click here for details.

“Even if you know you’re powerful, sometimes you don’t want to be strong.” -Mari Andrew
The loneliest goddess referred to in the title refers to Persephone and her kidnapping by Hades explained the seasons. And how she is left with no choice but to be brave to endure her fate.
This chapter speaks to despair Mari felt during her unexpected diagnosis of Guillain-Barrรฉ syndrome and hospitalization ๐ฅ during her vacation to Spain. She describes the emotional toll of feeling isolated by pain, and disconnected from her community so far from home. But she also experienced great comfort by the empathy she experienced during a chaplain’s โ๏ธ visit.

“I imagine [the birds] all disoriented and nervous-brave, like people on the reality show Naked and Afraid….The birds go about their fate with a bit more dignity, at least so it seems from afar.” -Mari Andrew
In Chapter 8, Mari shares her thoughts about seasonal and energetic changed, love and relationships, and what defines home.

Reading + sharing my notes from My Inner Sky by Mari Andrew was a way to keep on track these past two weeks. But tomorrow is my last radiation treatment and it is time to change tracks to gain perspective on my plans for the next few months.
“In the space between yes and no, thereโs a lifetime. Itโs the difference between the path you walk and the one you leave behind; itโs the gap between who you thought you could be and who you really are…โ -Jodi Picoult
โ๏ธ To live differently, we must begin to see ourselves differently. Lunar ๐๐ ๐ eclipses invite change and completion … so conclusions are in celestial ๐ซ order this week.
This summer has felt like night-skies chapters. Tonight there is a lunar eclipse and this feels like an appropriate conclusion for this series of book notes.
- Night sky seasons are for energetic changes, letting go, clarity within love and relationships, and knowing what defines home for usโand what to devote our energies to in order to stabilize.

Grounding practices for this summer of “night-skies” have included allowing my “ugly pages” ๐ journal to be my ๐ planner (where I track my daily tasks and miscellaneous date-stamped notes, and where I chronicle the goodness in my living). ๐
โ Right brain chronicles (jotted notes, ๐ color vents, โ๏ธ๐ collage and ๐๏ธ doodles of our ๐ญ ponderings and ๐๏ธ dated mental wanderings) are the data + a map of our living, serving as a tangible record of:
- questions and ๐ช wishes
- keywords and phrases ๐
- daydreams and nighttime dreams ๐ค๐ญ๐ค
- what we feel and think ๐๐๐ฃ๐
- what we want to experience โค๏ธ
- what we need to foster our well-being โป๏ธ
- what we want to discover and learn about ๐ง ๐ค
- sky meditations + phases ๐ (everything cycles)
Thank you kindly for your presence here.
I appreciate your interest and support.
~love & good wishes~
