“If life is going to be hard, what’s going to be so rich and good is that [joy] could happen anywhere, at anytime, and doesn’t all need to add up. I am in it for the jokes, in it for the joy.” -Kate Bowler
Braveheart, I am learning more about this book as I await the delivery of my pre-ordered copy. I just listened to this podcast and delight in the way Bowler talks how we can “put yourself in the way of joy” and the various ways we can find ourselves wrapped up in joy.
“Joy reminds our robot selves that before all of that [without trying harder] we were still worthy [of joy].” -Kate Bowler
Daily reading (a page, a chapter, online, Audible etc.) is a part of my creative practice. It has long been a way for me to redirect 🔀 my thoughts (especially when I feel 😵💫 wonky). It is a way to discover joy and inspiration.
This morning I excitedly read this article by Anne-Laure Le Cunff, “How reading books regulates your nervous system”. She points out that “Books don’t just stimulate the mind—they trigger physiological changes throughout the body.”
This is one of the reasons I host and participate in book discussions. The combination of note-taking and group discussion are immensely beneficial.
- Details about the next book discussion I will be hosting are here.
- 💓✨ Braveheart, I would love for you to join this discussion.
- Let me know by Wednesday, April 1 (no 🤭 foolin’) if you are interested. 😊
Right Brain Planner is a collection of lunar + seasonal prompts and journal-planning ideas to encourage self-compassion and review, reflection and expression, discovery and healing.
Braveheart, we learn by doing: we discover details about ourselves through chronicled observation 👀✍️📔 because everything we experience is data. 📊
Data is value-neutral; it is neither “good’ or “bad”—it is merely information to use for our choices, intentions and conclusions. Remembering this helps us to live free from judgment and shoulds.
Thank you kindly for your presence here.
I appreciate your interest and support.
~love & good wishes~

❤️ Braveheart, as the Creator/Artist of Right Brain Planner I am ever-grateful to have the opportunity to share my creative work online + support other creators! 🎉 For almost 20 years I have had the privilege of sharing my art and writing about right brain planning while also hosting kindred 👭🏽💞👭 communities. ✨ I consider it an absolute delight to continue this portion of my creative work (even as I retire from full-time work).
This is possible, in part, by {you} and your presence here. But also because of the support of my Ko-fi patrons and the other member/subscriber communities I host (via their presence, input and paid subscriptions).
