“When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.” -Jean Shinoda Bolen
A weekly ritual for me is to create a weekly collage page. It nourishes my soul to begin each week with a designated page for collage and notes and whatever else feels important or necessary to add to the page.

This is a tactile, meditative practice of expression +d curiosity that provides me with a starting point as well as inspiration and space for expression.
- Also part of ritual is to verify the phase of the 🌙 moon + select 1-2 oracle 🃏 cards from my decks as a visual prompt and guidance.

This weekly ritual enables me to hold space with the roller 🎢 coaster of Life’s realities. It has become therapy, enabling me to heal + recover from my depression and anxiousness.
It has helped me to prioritize my well-being, to actually be/do what I wanted to be/do (needed to be/do)—before giving away my attention and time and energies to other people and situations.
This ritual facilitates awareness of what I want and need, and serves as a daily starting point.

Braveheart, when we say we don’t know what we want (and need) … we actually do know. In fact, our restlessness and discontent are the first clues that what we desire is literally trying to get our attention.
The answers await our asking—followed by listening and chronicling as a ritual.
Right brain planning (pondering + being on the page) is a way of listening + chronicling our answers.
To ponder is to [consider and think] about the different facets of what we desire and need. Being on the page is the [starting point of expression], in whatever “language” is doable at that time:
- Beyond handwritten words, there are other examples of journal-speak (language in doable ways):
- doodles
- collaged papers
- painty lines and swirls
- concentric circles (ala Lynda Barry)
- intuitive painting
- resonating quotations
- lines of found words (cut from books and publications)
Intentional, tactile expression as a practice that facilitates focus and allows us to be wholly in the present moment—even as we may also be mentally time-traveling … 🙇🏻♀️💭
My ritual of right brain planning is a way of being in the present—while also reflecting on the past and envisioning the future within the imaginary worlds of my desires.
A ritual of right brain planning is a way of marking time and envisioning time for the purpose of living more of what matters most to us.
- It is a way to move away from despair and practice being curious when it is time to move beyond our [Before] and move into the appointed season of our [Next].
- It is a way of envisioning ourselves living what matters most to us as we experiment with new ideas, habits and rituals—jotting down the details of our daydreams and wishes and our want-to’s.
- It is a way to live this day (and every single day) to its fullest capacity.
- Even if (especially if) we feel stuck, emotionally swirly, “behind” or without a sense of direction.

“In a voiced community, we all flourish.” -Terry Tempest Williams
Community is essential. My ritual is enhanced by my participation in a variety of communities (locally and online).
❤️ I host one of those communities for my Ko-fi patrons; we meet monthly via Zoom. These monthly sessions allow us time and space to share ideas and support one another in our individual journeys.
Braveheart, what are your rituals?
Thank you kindly for your presence here, Braveheart. 💗
I appreciate your interest and support.

Right Brain Planning Basics | Day One Guide
The 2025-2026 theme for the Chapters private community I am hosting is 📖 [Conscious Living]. ✨ This is also the guiding theme of the cyclical resources + guides with art, templates and instructional content I publish for my Ko-fi patrons.
⭐️ I am an artist and curator; I am one who communicates with color, found words and collage, inky marks and doodles as I cycle like the moon (as my calendar), chronicling oracles and abiding with the sky as a meditation.
⭐️ I host creative communities, safe spaces for gathering and sharing. I choose love and creativity for coping with the ongoing challenges of this world and I go to work—not because everything is fine but because I believe art heals.
❤️ Braveheart, as the Creator/Artist of Right Brain Planner I am ever-grateful to have the opportunity to share my creative work online + support other creators! 🎉 For almost 20 years I have had the privilege of sharing my art and writing about right brain planning while also hosting kindred 👭🏽💞👭 communities. ✨ I consider it an absolute delight to continue this portion of my creative work (even as I retire from full-time work).
- This is possible, in part, by {you} and your presence here. But also because of the support of my Ko-fi patrons and the other member/subscriber communities I host (via their presence, input and paid subscriptions). 🫶
