The greatest potential for growth and self-realization exists in the second half of life.
Carl Jung
As I drove over bumpy country roads with my kindred friend I began to realize how long it had been since I set aside time for exploring my rural county.
And yet, driving through wide open spaces is one of my favorite pass times.
Especially when I have the grace to share that space with a kindred friend. Space to share the most vulnerable details of our personal realities, as we remember that we are not alone in our unmapped journeys, and mindfully explore our inner landscapes.
Sometimes what we are facing feels too intense to even utter in the faintest of whispers. And yet, when we find the courage to voice the most basic details is like plunging a flag into the ground of new territory.
Space we can be fully seen.
Comforted.
Expanding.
The timing of her visit proved to be Divine as we have talked and laughed, dined on paper-wrapped cheeseburgers—and captured country views through the frame of car windows-down while listening to songs from our favorite playlists.
If you are in a time of uncertainty or personal challenge, I hope you will share moments with a close friend or take a drive and let the wind whip your hair—or whatever makes you smile and cues release.
