To respond to Life. {openly and honestly; without apology}

I am recovering from illness {the stomach kind; the messy stuff one resists mentioning in polite conversation} … ;) But words came this morning as I sat in sprinkling rain, listening to quiet thunder. It was the surprise of thunder that urged me out of bed this morning.

Because we are in the midst of full blown drought and heat waves here in Oklahoma. I had to see what was going on outside.

I had to respond, to investigate what was happening.

How simple it is to respond when no one is watching. To imagine conversations and spot-on one-liners when we are alone with our thoughts

But let’s move on to making it simple to respond whenever we have something to say. To speak, not simply to be heard but to say what we need to say. We do not have to be heard {or responded to} for our words to be valid — vital — worthy of being given audio.

Let us resist the baseless warning of that voice in our head when it whispers, “It won’t make any difference.”

We are not taking on a cause when we speak up instead of walking away. We are simply making a conscious choice to respond to the quiet thunder within …

To respond to Life.

Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you’d be better off instead
If you could only … Say what you need to say
~John Mayer

These words are lovingly dedicated to my Bravehearts {who today includes my amazing Rocket Man, my two wise sons, my loving bonus daughter and my precious granddaughter}. Their love continuously strengthens me when my {physical} strength is waning. I am ever-grateful. I love you forever.
