sacred space & possibility

A practice has a space…and that space is sacred. -Steven Pressfield, “Leave your problems outside

Get rid of all of the clutter in your digital life. Start from scratch. Say, ‘What do I really care about?’

Cal Newport

I have been reading excerpts from Keep Going by Austin Kleon and practicing “airplane mode.” This prompted me to reference Deep Work by Cal Newport.

  • Work deeply (schedule specific focus periods)
  • Hold space with boredom (resist distraction)
  • Be intentional about social media (specific; use timer)
  • Minimize tasks that don’t contribute to your focus

Braveheart, what do you really care about?

What is inviting (awaiting) your attention?

  • There are times when we are avoiding action points for the things we claim to want to do and to be.
    • Part of that is simply the process — but also it is important to remember that “every wall you erect to keep out pain will keep out possibility” (Andrea Gibson).

Stop wandering about …. Get busy with life’s purpose, toss aside empty hopes, get active in your own rescue—if you care for yourself at all—and do it while you can.

Thank you kindly for your presence here, Braveheart.
