There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality. ~Pablo Picasso
It has been my habit to begin where I am … To move in the direction of my dreams intuitively — with minimal planning — observing and learning as I go. And today I am beginning where I am — retooling: adapting//making my creative collaborations more suitable to this season of my life {and facilitating the details of the hard things}.
The focus of Right Brain Planner is being retooled. It will become more a journal of days, as opposed to an instructional site. A real-time example of how one can live creatively, free of lines and boxes — should’s, shall’s and have-to’s. Most of you already know I have been moving in this direction for some time. And your support and input has bolstered my resolve! ![]()
Painting is just another way of keeping a diary. ~Pablo Picasso
My work and collaborations with clients during my career as a business consultant was retooled two years ago when I decided to focus exclusively upon creative planning practices and art-full living: for myself and as a service offering to clients.
Life as art …
- unique to each {artist}
- sketched first within …
- collaged by living fully
- framed by memory
- valued because of the artist’s identity
- To embrace the practice of holding on loosely, planning creatively and muting left brain analysis {why’s? when’s? how’s?} utilizing creativity … and by abiding {living} with the questions.
Since beginning collaborations regarding right brain planning techniques, I have observed the impact of utilizing creativity not only for planning, but the benefits of incorporating art and “all-things-creative” to cope with {assess and overcome} the challenges we face within:
- our minds {mental memories and experiences — the good, bad and ugly — and how that affects and determines our self-talk and vision}
- our body {wellness challenges, self-care, chronic conditions — and how that affects our ability to take action and renew our minds} and
- {I believe to be most important} how we nourish our spirit-life {spiritus: breath}
I waited for the idea to consolidate, for the grouping and composition of themes to settle themselves in my brain. When I felt I held enough cards I determined to pass to action, and did so. ~Claude Monet
Have enough cards? Check.
Passing to action …
- My {action and} personal mission statement: To live the questions, to abide {be} and to nourish my mind, body, spirit … art-fully. To live in a place of letting go.
- Action and mission statement for Right Brain Planner blog: A record of personal inspirations and discoveries; a forum to encourage and facilitate collaboration {living the questions} among creative-minded women with regard to self-care and developing wholly {mind, body, spirit} … artfully.
Let’s collaborate.
My humble request to you, dear reader: To collaborate {inquire//discuss//comment} here and.or Facebook.
The intent of Right Brain Planner blog is to foster a collaborative {wiki} planning system — accommodating the distinct flow of the creative mind — by and for out-of-the-box, right brain thinkers and life-doers.
This means you personally are most cordially invited to submit comments regarding:
- your questions
- likes {and dislikes}
- discoveries {and difficulties}
- even other blogs you find useful
- {fill in the blank … }
This does not mean you must compile the “perfect” comment or edit yourself because you believe what you have to say is not important. ♥
Consider this:
- A creative planning puzzle …
- … each of us holds a piece to the puzzle.
- When we come together, offering our piece …
- … we are able to “see” it more completely.
Simply comment what pops into your mind:
- “This works for me, too!”
- “Useful. But do you have more information about …”
- “Here is a link I recommend for …”
- “I have no idea what you are talking about.” Because sometimes what I write doesn’t make sense to anyone living outside my right brain!
Several of you have mentioned we fly the same freak flag — that you appreciate feeling like Right Brain Planner is part of your tribal colors.
And I just love that!
Your support via comments, tweets and e-mails have always been such an inspiration and encouragement to me. ♥ But I also want to remind you of something else … in words spoken so succinctly I am simply quoting them here:
Please know that your comments tell not only the writer but the other readers that they are part of a larger whole. Let them see in the comments the type of people that read a blog. This is a crucial way that folks {including those that don’t have a blog, whose voices need to be heard} can contribute to the multiple and simultaneous dialogues going on all over the creative web. We choose what blogs we read, based not only on our interests but how that blog makes us feel & do after we read it. ~Tammy, Comments Section {and fabulous, sparkly dialogues for} Seeing + noticing things others don’t…
In other words: Spread the magic! K?
As always … I am so blessed to know so many of my readers, and that sharing our ideas and inspiration have allowed us to become friends … ♥
I will keep blogging and you keep visitin’ — and let’s collaborate.
