Last month I reviewed {journaled, doodled, pondered} my alter-egos. Along with the situations that require various {other selves} to patrol the front line of my personal-onward. Today it became necessary that I remind myself of the alter-ego to the facet of my personality that prefers straight lines over the squiggly lines for productivity: my rest-self.
Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time. ~John Lubbock
It is apparent that no lifetime is long enough in which to explore the resources of a few square yards of ground. ~Alice M. Coats
I revisited Leah Piken Kolidas’s site {where my creative every day activities were first fostered}. I looked through the Creative Every Day Flickr Group and clicked through the posts linked for this week’s check-in. It was like a secret message when I learned this month’s theme is Light. ♥
Happiness is a condition of mind not a result of circumstances. ~John Lubbock

There is nothing deep down inside us except what we have put there ourselves. ~Richard Rorty
Rest is not idleness … {MS ordered a day of rest; I resisted {at first …} then I remembered creative ideas and energy always follow days of rest. It is cloudy and drizzly, so I consented. And I treated myself to some maple leaf cookies, and time arting in my altered book with my 3-year, single-line journal.
I believe alter egos to be likened to muses and wizards, bodyguards and angels; the parts of us we sometimes forget are there for our best interests. ♥
