A friend called while I was watching a movie recently; I pressed the pause button on the DVD remote control and proceeded to chat and catch up with the details of what was going on in her life. After we had covered that, I updated her regarding my own life adventures.
By the time I got back to the movie, my television had defaulted to a blue screen. I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself because it was such an appropriate visual regarding the details of my current priorities {as outlined during my conversation with my friend}. And, when I liken said priorities to a movie …
There is an entire story awaiting completion. ★
The main story line has been established and reviewed — with continuing themes being identified and incorporated for the next scenes. During the pause of the past eight weeks, I invested my time collaging, journaling, reading, listening and collaborating with my peer group and mentor. (While my blog has been periodically reduced to a proverbial blue screen.) Oddly enough, I have been all right with that. But … It is time to press the play button!
Queuing up what is next.
I discovered that my inability to focus and to complete my To-Do’s had more to do with the tasks than my ability to accomplish said tasks. The lack of diligence I was experiencing was a reflection on the surface of something deeper.
Instead of being confined within the boundaries of my experience {what I am qualified and trained to do} I decided it was time to pursue my passion. And while my passion, marketing management … creAtively, incorporates my expertise — it will become a refined, sparkly adaptation of the black and white, MBA version!
My focus will be to offer resources to solopreneurs and to assist them in learning how to utilize and incorporate social media as a collaborative element of both their personal and business development. (Instead of viewing it as an exclusive club for larger businesses and.or a confusing waste of time!
)
Speaking of time {and how to use it} I will incorporate creAtive techniques and planning methods as custom elements of a personalized client plan. Time management and incorporating new technologies are vital for a solopreneur yet — all too often — at the bottom of their list of priorities.
In order to effect a change in the way solopreneurs value their time, talent and ideas, this site will provide information and practical encouragement as a collaborative online resource. Dear reader, this collaboration includes you — your input and comments, questions and answers, links and resources! ♥
I have been organizing my previous blog posts and outlining ideas for the following features:
- Informative Content {Blog Tips and How-To’s; Social Media Tutorials; Topic-Specific Resource Listings}
- Collaborative Peer Group Opportunities {Online; Linked Blogs; Shared Content; Mentoring}
- Book Notes {Entrepreneurial; Time Management and Organization; Creative Planning; Altered Books; Collage}
- Visual Journaling {Altered Books; Vision Boards; Collage; Artist Trading Cards; Right Brain Planning}
It has been empowering to review the foundations of Right Brain Planner and to plan for the future. It was especially liberating to let go of the weight of what I assumed {to be the way to go} and embrace the process of exploring new territory. {And absolutely invigorating to ponder the possibilities of brainstorming creative solutions with like-minded creAtives and solopreneurs!}
- To my clients and faithful followers: My heartfelt gratitude for sticking with me through this transition!
- To new visitors: Welcome! Please join in! ♥ Post your comments and questions, ideas and suggestions!
- A special shout-out to @Fayinagirl, @Kara_S, @skygrrrl and @BeckyMcCray (and @MackCollier)! You inspire me to press onward — and to do it MY way!

Perhaps you have an idea of how to alter or improve what you are already doing? Why not take the chance and do it YOUR way.
Some inspiration from Mack Collier to do just that: http://moblogsmoproblems.blogspot.com/2010/03/this-is-my-idea.html
Ahh, my friend, I know of no other way to “do it” but my way.
Life is a journey. We reach stations, rest and refresh, and move on to the next leg of the journey, but we never “arrive” until our time here is through.
Enjoy the journey.
Absolutely! Despite the “feeling” when we arrive at the station {to rest and refresh} that we could have taken a wrong turn somewhere!
Definitely enjoying the journey!
You know maybe this bug/crud thing is my body's way of hitting the pause button for me. I had time to rip through old magazines for later journal pages, catch up on my Bible study, and sleep. lots of sleep. Now the bags under my eyes are going away, my skin is clear and other than still not feeling 100% it's not too bad. BUT I miss running, swimming and spinning, I guess I wore myself out, maybe I should try moderation after this half marathon.
Moderation is a good thing, Cindy.
I believe illness is the body's way of alerting us that we are doing too much. Sort of like 'Pay me now, or pay me later — plus penalties!
Sort of a silver lining, to have time to journal, etc. Once you regain full-speed, perhaps you can jot down daily notes or keywords on a monthly calendar as a creative diversion. It would provide a quick log of your day and could prove insightful pertaining to bits of joy, memorable moments, etc.
All the best to you in the half marathon! You always inspire me!
