Obstacles indicate our course for change {failing quickly}

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. ~Albert Einstein

The best way to prepare for life is to live it — wholeheartedly: to get messy; to make mistakes. To act in response to what we see as our personal Next. In doing so, there will be lessons — and some lessons will be confused as failure ☛ interpreted as confirmation we did something wrong. :roll: But let’s not default to that. K? Because these miss-takes will prove to be the precise lessons we need to graduate from where we are — into where we want to be. :mrgreen:

The solutions won’t come from debates, they will come through trying, failing quickly, and then trying again with increased resolve. ~D.J. Patel

If you want things to be different, perhaps the answer is to become different yourself. ~Norman Vincent Peale

Obstacles

Motivation to overcome — to adapt and become different — is generated by my desire to live in a renewing, fluid state of adjustment. Because it is increasingly necessary for my work {art; collaborating; writing; social media} to be accomplished within brief blocks of time due to an increase of symptomatic episodes of MS. {current obstacles: pain, cognitive issues and debilitating fatigue}

When I begin a new project, I know what I desire and plan to accomplish. But the challenges of MS can quickly cause me to feel as though said project is unreachable {impossible} due to the long pauses between points of measurable progress. To overcome this, I utilize art journaling to “sit with” ideas, log notes and “sketch” out a {creative} structure and timeline; this allows me to create a visual continuum.

Breakthrough

In the midst of this proverbial obstacle course, I have experienced a paradigm shift during the past few months {culminating with The Month of One}. I am much more accepting that life goals take as long as they take; despair is less frequent as I allow myself to rest at the onset of symptomatic episodes of MS — instead of running faster in hopes of avoiding it all together. {Visual: bedtime for a two-year-old, who knows she is tired but jumps up from stillness — and charges into activity — in order to maximize, and prolong, the time before bedtime!} ;)

Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in. ~Andrew Jackson

Going In

I have been thinking, planning and collecting elements for a special offering: Mail for your journal via a monthly subscription.

My plan was to launch it earlier this week … but within the limited time I was able to be online, I could not get the PayPal button to function properly on my site. That day was followed by three very difficult days physically. Which lead to other obstacles … And, yes. I was discouraged. But I remained undaunted! I allowed these events to affirm my course for change, albeit a bit of an obstacle course! ;)

We always strive after what is forbidden, and desire the things refused us. ~Ovid #rebel

Adjective:
  1. Not allowed; prohibited due to physical or mental conditions.
  2. An opportunity to discover a course for change #secretmessage
  3. A mile marker for a journey in the direction of one’s dreams …
  4. A chance to embrace the power of righteous rebellion; be liberated.
  5. Opportunity to fail quickly, assess and proceed with increased resolve! ;)

There is time for everything. ~Thomas A. Edison
