Erica {an amazing ♥ friend and artist} inspires me to consider the moments within my day. And she has a new series, on Fridays. An open invitation to share bits and pieces of beauty from your week … It inspired to begin posting my own “Friday Five” …
We love the way we live.
I wrote these words in my journal a week ago. The syllables just spilled out … ♥ I needed a reminder of this truth; I have overcome much of what felt confining with love and relationships, and thus with living. The fear of mistakes or being rejected or ignored remains but it is not longer paralyzing.
The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes
I have felt “too busy” during the past six weeks because To-Do Lists keep being carried over, week-by-week; I have been pushing limits during these past several weeks. {Sort of an experiment of willful defiance of my usual s-l-o-w schedule due to multiple sclerosis.} Because there are questions I carry with me {link}; these syllables remind me that loose ends and revolving task lists are always opportunities.
Never be afraid to fall apart because it is an opportunity to rebuild yourself the way you wish you had been all along. ~Rae Smith
Part of that “falling apart” includes learning as I go, trial and error — being vulnerable. Opening my life to people I am drawn to, people who are drawn to me … even as we abide in discovering why that attraction exists. Being willing to share unconditionally, to give without expectation — sharing our words and small gifts of affection and inspiration. ♥
Love and living includes circles of time and talent and memory. Sharing space with those we love and abiding in the quiet and conversations … again, free of expectations — embracing serendipity and impromptu time together. ♥
One half of knowing what you want is knowing what you must give up before you get it. ~Sidney Howard
Love and living also include discerning what truly matters for us — in the long term and in the immediate — in the frivolous and the essential, such as our work {how we produce income}. Being a freelancer is about endurance and being brutally honest about what must be done — and redefining the problems as we have grace {link}.
Life goes on …
Letting go {of people and situations, and even dreams} is not quitting or approving of the actions of another. It is merely removing the chains of the pain from our {one wild and precious} life and allowing the healing to begin. Thereby empowering us to move onward.
