There is always music amongst the trees in the garden, but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it.
~Minnie Aumonier
She tells me it’s giving me rings — like a tree. That it is part of my story … That I am strong like that. {I love her. Truly.} Mandy and I grow rings, dance {and abide} in the midst of {life as art} … where we allow ourselves to focus on frames of time, notations scrawled on bits of paper, strips of pattern and color … among broken glass and high places.
We are dreamers who pack snacks and magazines for our journey along {the road to enlightenment}. We exchange red stars and secret messages and collage elements for our journals. We live; out loud. Free. ♥
The road to enlightenment is long and difficult, and you should try not to forget snacks and magazines.
~Anne Lamott
There are points along the way when one {or both} of us will feel the pinch of our devotion to Vulnerable and Undaunted. At which time … we resist the urge to “untie” one another from her cocoon. But faithfully whisper reminders that discoveries await, and that the possibilities are endless — and certain — to those who dare to dream!
We completed bits of {art-full} business planning Monday evening. Murmuring syllables regarding sales tax and Schedule C’s while sipping our rose-colored, iced Tazo teas at “our” Starbucks; and answering questions from one of our favorite baristas about altered books.
This week altered book kits were started and {free} journal prompts for August were compiled, collaged, photographed and uploaded despite various “adventures” {real-life dailies, troubleshooting web sites and settings; crazy MS sleep cycles, blurred vision and resulting typos} … On deck are art journaling cards with collage elements — and secret messages, too!
The word “crisis” is from the Greek, meaning “a moment to decide.” The recurrent moments of crisis and decision when understood, are growth junctures, points of initiation which mark a release from one state of being and a growth into the next. ~Jill Purce
Life is a constant flow of moments to decide. Recurrent moments of challenges and opportunities to pause … to quit … to wander. But I am standing firmly, intent upon living each of my life-rings as my story is written. Even {and especially} when I don’t “feel like it” … Because that place — that is the place I change my life by making it coherent.
We come to enjoy ourselves in it, come what may. And in doing so we add meaning of our own, proving ourselves to be life’s creative participants. We discern and live, thereby enhance life. We change life by making life coherent, and we are in the meantime changed by living the coherence we continually create. ~Kuang-Ming Wu
How about you, Braveheart?
I believe in you. In your ability to make your life coherent.
By first loving the life you live — to be changed by living the coherence — in order for you to live a life you love.
