Give yourself room to move

by stargardener

There are opportune moments in life when you find yourself barely able to move in the midst of you own expectations. You stare at the closed door to your {windowless room of} Routines and Busyness — and the walk-in closet {harboring the opinions of others} as  it overflows into this room. A room packed full of teetering towers of boxes brimming with To-Do’s.

As you slowly survey this room, you feel as though there is not enough space to take even one step; you feel trapped in the habits that enclose you {tighter and tighter} each day. You feel helpless — and perhaps you even feel hopeless. Hopeless because there remain so many variables you have no control over. And weary of determining said variables from that which you can control {your choices/decisions}.

Since feelings are the origins of habit, let’s focus there first.

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.  ~Winston Churchill

“It’s not that there isn’t enough light in your life so much as it is your eyes, heart, and spirit might not be open wide enough to pick it up.” More …

  • What can you do? Last week I invited you to s-t-r-e-t-c-h. [Are you stretching yourself?]
  • What are you willing to do? Determine one priority {goal, to-do, want-to}.
  • What is one step/task you can accomplish today? Do it.
  • Post what you did as a comment below.

A one-word description, a statement of your intention or a celebratory proclamation of personal victory: You decide.

[Artistic goals are my current focus of topic. I resumed creAting {and wrecking ala Keri Smith} in my copy of Wreck This Journal and reading excerpts from my Julie Cameron books; I joined Wreck This Journal Flickr Group; and scheduled an hour of collage in my daily schedule. So far, so good! ... and happy is she who did believe, for there shall be a completion to the things spoken to her ... ~Luke 1:45]

How about you?

  • What are your artistic goals?
  • How do you accomplish the s-t-r-e-t-c-h?
  • Where do you {find time} for your artistic goals?
  • What is one step/task  you accomplished today?
