Gratitude is such a interesting dynamic. When we are grateful for someone’s words or actions, or simply their presence in the midst of a day … Expressing our gratitude, reciprocating as the circle of gratitude completes itself. ♥
This week I was repeatedly graced with the presence and the kindness of people I know via our online activities. Their kindnesses proved to be buoyancy for me as I tread water far from the sight of any shoreline, in the deep sea of chronic pain.
There are often weeks like this … When Pain yanks me into the deep end or onto a proverbial dance floor. Dragging me through a playlist of heavy metal music against my will. I have learned how to lead — refusing to follow the strained dance moves of Pain. But this week Pain took me by surprise and I went into default mode.
But Gratitude stepped in. Whispering and pointing out the goodness of my days, the love and kindness that surrounds my proverbial dance floor. I was able to remember my dance steps — to rediscover my rhythm — as I motioned with authority to the DJ, to switch the music over to my choices. And the first song was a {thank you} …
