Alive in the present moment

in quote prompt

Every breath we take, every step we make, can be filled with peace, joy and serenity. We need only to be awake, alive in the present moment. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Being in the moment.

Allowing ease to reign in the midst of busyness and much-to-do … physical pain and chronic health issues I have little control over. That is my focus, the focus which facilitates being fully alive in the present moment. Some days wrapped in more ease than others …

Baby steps count …

It is my practice to remain in quiet solitude during the first hour of each day. Most mornings, I cycle through a varied list of isometric exercises, breathwork and yoga. The morning I captured this beautiful watercolor sky, I was surprised by all the color because when I looked outside from my window the sky was all gray. There had been a massive line of thunderstorms that had moved through the night before and the heavy, dark clouds remained.

The veil of color from the sun rising through that heavy cloud cover was brief; I was grateful to have seen it …

To have experienced a vibrant visual that despite the cover of darkness, there is always light — always color to be found.

Braveheart, what are ways you experience color and vibrancy, if only momentary, in the midst of darkness {challenges; questions}?
