Creativity is more mystery than mastery. Creativity, like human life itself, begins in darkness and must be given time to incubate. ~Julia Cameron
I am a dreamer … someone who is {mostly} okay with ideas having space to flow and move around before solidifying — with details being allowed to unfold like gardens in the midst of Spring. I resist clutching a proverbial clipboard — frantically checking off sequenced tasks!
All the possibilities of your human destiny are asleep in your soul. You are here to realize and honor these possibilities. ~John O’Donohue
It is my practice to surrender and discover what I need {like this beautiful example expressed by my friend and colleague, Julie Gibbons}. But some days I fumble with this … I get in a tizzy and I pull the reins taut.
Because … I sorta do wanna know.
As in “how much longer?” or “should I respond?” or “will doing something only makes matters worse?”
I learn by going where I have to go. ~Theodore Roethke
Everybody’s had to fight to be free {Tom Petty, Refugee ♫♫} … and everybody’s had that aha moment when they decided to learn by being {and doing and going} where they had to go.
We eat cookies
… {gather a tribe} … retreat … cry 96 tears ♫♫ … and we create pages in our art journals. So-o … let’s do this! Let’s do whatever it takes to go where we have to go!

Teresa ~ It has been my recent, on-going, agony to faithfully keep on making without having any real sense of knowing how the work’s going to turn out. It’s kinda driving me nuts, and I know I’ve got to get past it. Thank you for the rich encouragement of this post. I’ve gotta let go and just go and do (make).
Lew, you are a faithful encouragement me … I am grateful these words resonated with you. Thank you kindly for your comment.
I’m there with you dear one xoxo
So invigorating to be reminded, Julie. As we baby step {and sometimes sprint} in our journey into the dark and the place of light. ♥
