There are so many adventures I want to enjoy … hobbies I want to learn and practice, projects I want to work on. The periodic, shrill bell-ringing of the alarm clock in my brain reminds of these {wanna-do’s}, and I become momentarily distracted. {Sometimes distracted longer than momentary!
}
Then I remember: Only 24 hours in a day.
And ya’ll know I like to count days. {BTW, today is Day 119 of 2010; we have 246 days remaining … ♥ the numeral: 246!} Sometimes I even obsess about counting days {and get lost in my dreams about a 32-hour day!}. Which {after all multiple mental circles
} leaves me with the reality that there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity.
One such example of a time/season I am waiting for: When I design, piece and hand-quilt a full-size quilt. The one I see said time/season in my mind’s eye. However …
Said time/season hasn’t arrived in reality. Yet.
So imagine the thrill of excitement that zipped through my being when I landed at this blog: Art Quilt: Story Quilt. Art. Quilting. Wow!
Hand-quilting is a generational art-form and craft in my family. I learned how to make a ten-stitch-inch under the tutelage of my maternal grandmother {a creAtive before her time and kindred-spirit}. She knew it was unlikely that I would create traditional quilts, such as a Nine Patch or Log Cabin or Flower Garden. Which is why she introduced me to Crazy-Quilting.
But back to the point of this post — {and a reminder to myself}.
Stop whining.
The initial point of my want-to came before all the current information {books and blogs} about Art-Quilting and the latest versions of Crazy-Quilting. Which will equip me all the more in the techniques and possibilities of my original goal of hand-quilting a full-size {art} quilt!
Thus, I truly {truly} do need to stop whining and do what I have {can and want} to do today.
How about you, dear reader? Tell me: What are you longing for? Dreaming about? Wanna do {someday}?
Let’s wait together!
