{a success unexpected in common hours}

If the day and the night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more starry, more immortal — that is your success. ~Thoreau

Thoreau syllables have faithfully given me hope and insight since I first read them in Honor’s English as a high school student. Most of what we read felt distant {and almost as if originally written in a foreign language and poorly translated into English}. But this man left quite a legacy of {easy-to-embrace} wisdom.

I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. ~Thoreau

I often refer to my work as a freelancer and creative planner as {my experiment} as I advance {mostly} confident in the direction of my dreams. And this past year the “living the life I imagined” part has been especially been sw-eet! ;)

In fact, it is that part of my life {the art, creativity and collaboration} that has facilitated continued advancement. Living with multiple sclerosis provides daily opportunities to learn {to adapt and.or to quit}. I am sure you, too, have some reality in your life that creates these sort of “opportunities” to look beyond the immediate and focus upon your goal instead of the not-so-comfortable details of the moment.

It is my intention to post more frequently, using more images {instead of words} to “explain” how to plan and journal and dream creatively. Because of a limit of time at my desktop computer {due to MS pain and physical restrictions} I am learning how to utilize apps on my iPhone to accomplish that.

I am also opting out of allowing comments in order to simplify the details of this blog. Most of my feedback is via e-mail and social media, and I am delighted with that medium of collaboration and communication! :mrgreen: I am also thrilled to working on a beta version {of sorts} for an actual right-brain planner! I have a faithful group of “participants” who keep my mind sparked with possibilities and ideas!

My focus right now: {art as income} … as in instead of constantly wondering: {should I work for free?} ☚ click to see a marvelous visual of said decision process! ;) I have {a wee bit of} commissioned work and loads of ideas! I am reading {and keeping notations online and in my business plan} — and doodling and collaging in that {creative} business plan.

My plans are on a small scale, but it is this work that fuels me in the midst of “those days” — days of extreme challenge when I wonder if I should bother with moving through the tedious protocol of getting my physical body in-motion, physical therapy’ed and nourished.

The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it. ~Thoreau

This is such an excellent prompt when one considers what the hours of a day, the days of a life — will include, and journey in the direction of …

What amount of living — of your one wild and precious life — are you willing to {pay} for that which {spends} your energy, time and talent?
